Luisa is a young villager who works in the pastry shop of the widower don Albino. Lost in thought and somewhat rigid with her companions from work, Luisa dreams of getting married and adores children. Just when don Albino shows his interest in her, Luisa announces to be getting married in ten days with Carlos, a rich family's driver whom she met only shorty before. The day of the wedding, Luisa's wedding dreams are crumbled cruelly when Carlos leaves her standing in the church. Unable to accept the truth, Luisa lies to everyone including herself, affirming that the marriage is on and she is expecting her first child. Despite that her companions at the pastry shop suspect that something is wrong in her life, Luisa manages to keep up the lie, until it ends up entrapping even herself.
