The farmer Macario lives obsessed by his poverty and by the though of death. Stubbornly, he decides to hold his hunger until he finds a turkey that he can eat by himself. His wife steals one and Macario goes out into the woods to eat it. There he refuses to share it with God and with the Devil and only does so when Death appears in front of him. Thankful, Death hands Macario a blessing water with which the farmer will start to realize miracles.

This program focuses on the most important cinematographer of the film-history of Mexico: Gabriel Figueroa: (1908–1997). With the retrospective, which includes internationally renowned film classics, Cinemaztlán offers audiences the possibility to indulge in the rich film-history of Mexico. These films are significant representatives of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and its exquisite aesthetics.
