The opening of Cinemaztlàn will take place at Studio K on 28 October. The Mexican film festival is proud to inaugurate its third edition with the Dutch première of the award winning film 'Voy a explotar' by the talented Mexican director Gerardo Naranjo. The main actress of the film, Maria Deschamps, is one of the guests of the festival and she will join us this night.
For this special event Cinemaztlàn has a limited amount of tickets available to the public for a special evening with film, music, cocktails and Mexican specialities for €15.

Two teenagers live in a little Mexican town. Sofia wants to leave. Jonas has to decide whether to stay or leave with her.

Set in Guanajuato, Mexico, Voy a explotar tells the story of Roman, a teenager with violent fantasies, and Maru, a 15-year-old loner. United in their desire to fight the immobility that they feel surrounding them, the two embark on a rebellion against everything and everyone when they decide to runaway to a place where they do not have to answer to anyone. This leads them to an accidental new intimacy in which they discover their sexuality and an intense life as a couple that both unites them and confuses them. Despite the risk of getting caught by the police and their parents, the young fugitives jeopardize the security of their hiding place and seek to expand the limits of their newfound paradise to return to the real world where wounds are real and actions have consequences.

Voy a explotar has been official selection at the New York Film Festival, the 65 Mostra Internazionale D'arte Cinematografica Venecia, Toronto International Film Festival, among other.
