Rosa is a Mexican woman who, in 1999, at the age of 17, migrated illegally to Austin, Texas. In January 2003, she was accused with suspicion of murder of a young kid and then trialed in August 2005. To be imprisoned in a foreign country, the judicial process, the verdict, the separation from her family, the powerlessness, make of Mi vida adentro a cruel portrait of the reality of many Mexican migrants in the United States.

PRELUDE TO REVOLUTION
Mi vida adentro is part of the block PRELUDE TO REVOLUTION. This block points at some current social contexts in Mexico, which could be considered as political time bombs. This program raises the question whether the topics addressed in these artworks, if unattended, are ground for social uprisings (or revolution?). By using the name Prelude to Revolution, the festival would like to contribute in advance to the forthcoming 100 years anniversary celebrations of the Mexican Revolution that will take place in 2010.
