Susurros de luz
Whispers of light
Alberto Reséniz Gómez, 2008, 14'
How is an image created? Gerardo Nigenda lost sight fully as a result of a chronically degenerative disease at age 26. He dedicated himself to professional photography at age 32. He learned photography almost by accident when he was working as a representative of the Braille System at the Jorge Luis Borges Library, which is part of the Photographical Center Manuel Álvarez Bravo, in Oaxaca, Mexico. This documentary proves that one does not need to see to create images, for they do not necessarily emerge with sight.
