INDIGENOUS CINEMA
A great chance to immerse yourself into the traditions and values of
the indigenous communities of Mexico. The block comprises predominantly films made
by the indigenous themselves. Through them, the festival uncovers the fascinating
personal views on their traditions, their problems and the transformations they are
facing. This section is subdivided in specific sub-themes: Celebrations, Traditions,
Rites, Language and Resistance. Guest indigenous filmmaker Yolanda Cruz will give a
master class and will participate in a discussion at the University of Amsterdam.
